ANGER MANAGEMENT

Anger is a common and natural human emotion displayed by everyone. However, when anger is uncontrollable and negatively affecting your life, it becomes unhealthy. Unhealthy anger leaves you with consequences to deal with regarding your home, work, and social life. It can manifest in a number of ways but knowing what the symptoms are can make all the difference.

In this program you assess your choices and identify beliefs that give power to triggers. You will learn coping skills and communication techniques that help you resolve conflict and manage the physiological arousal that anger causes.

Anger Management Assessments ($150): Anger Management Evaluations are often required to be completed by the courts after certain charges (ie domestic violence, simple affray, etc). An assessment is typically a 40-50 minute interview in-person or by phone or secure video conference. In the interview, we discuss some basic background (job satisfaction, health, family and living situation, etc.) and then we ask the individual to explain the incident that led to the legal charge (or perhaps workplace incident) that gave rise to the mandated anger management assessment. Once the interview is completed we go to work on a report that is written in a format that is meaningful to a court or an employer. It includes a diagnosis if there is one, or an explanation why we didn’t make a diagnosis. If there appears to be a diagnosable condition or the person is at risk for further incidents there will be recommendations made to remedy the underlying problem(s).

Anger Management Group Sessions ($200): Anger Management Group sessions are held on a Saturday each month from 10am to 2pm with sign-in at 9:45 am. Cost is $200. Upon completion of one 4-hour session, participants will receive a certificate of completion that can be presented to a court, if necessary.
